Coal Products
Coal is primarily used as a fuel to generate electricity through combustion and as a reducting agent. Thermal coal is used in power stations to generate electricity, whilst the steel industry is the second largest user of coal. Coal and iron ore are essential raw materials used in the production of steel. Coal also has multiple uses within the construction industry. Coal is used as an energy source in the cement industry, whilst the by-products as a result of beneficiating coal is used in the manufacture of bricks and concrete production. Coal can be turned into ammonia fertiliser for agricultural use.
Anthracite
Anthracite is used in power generation and is a critical component in electrode paste, calcium carbide and ferrochrome production, among other applications. Africa Resource Holdings (ARH) can supply a wide range of anthracite products namely Anthracite Middlings, Prime Duff, Prime Nuts, Prime Peas and High Ash.
Manganese
Manganese is used mostly in steel manufacturing and other industrial applications. It is an important raw material in the Iron and steel industry as it is used for hardening steel and prevents it from rusting. It is used in dry cell batteries. It is used in forming many alloys. It is used in chemical, glass and electrical industries.
